Christlike Attribute Project - Report Name: Holly Fisher Christlike Attribute Selected: Patience Instructions Answer the questions in the boxes below to report on your experience applying a Christlike Attribute to your life. Please include the citations to the scripture references included in your response. ( Note: boxes will expand as you type ): What Christlike Attribute did you choose to work on and why did you choose to work on that particular Christlike attribute at this time in your life? I worked on patience. I chose to work on this because I felt as though my patience was very thin for the past couple weeks and I had no control over my outbursts. The way that I felt in patience at the little things that were going on or happening including while at school and work. As you have studied the Book of Mormon, what passages or truths have helped you to think about your chosen attribute (please include references to the passages). “Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy” ( 2 Ne. 2:25 ). “This passage captures the major possibilities of life.We can have genuine joy and happiness only as we learn patience. ( Patience, A Key to Happiness By Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin) How did you measure and record your efforts/progress regularly over the last few weeks? Taking a deep breath when I feel on edge Talking through my concerns or feelings with my husband as tasks come up reminding myself that everything does not have to be on my time Opening myself up to the holy ghost in times that are hard I also wrote in my journal about how I would feel if I felt my patience slip throughout the day. Which of your goals was most effective in helping you understand or grow in your chosen attribute? Why do you think that was so? I chose to find talks on patience and how developing the attribute can help us come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I think that this was helpful because I was able to connect patience with the gospel and it helped me to learn more and how to become more patient in my everyday life. How will this experience influence or change what you will do from this point forward in your life? I think this has changed me in the way that I feel more calm. I do not jump to the gun and want to yell at people for the littlest things. For the most part it was hard for me at work to practice patience. However I was able to understand that people are all different and we do not know what they are going through so something that might be bugging you that they are doing they may have a reason for it. I also feel like this will help me because sometimes I get impatient with my husband about the way he drives.
