The leadership on my campus is very effective in setting and abiding by high standards of ethical behavior. Our administrators always do what is right, take responsibility for their actions, and are able to admit their mistakes. They prioritize transparency and ensure that all decisions are made with integrity. This undoubtedly creates a culture of trust among staff, and students, and promotes a positive school culture on our campus. 2.
What role does ethical behavior play in garnering public trust, and support for the school?
Members of the community must be able to trust schools to not only educate their students but to keep them safe. Good ethical behavior from teachers and administrators ensures that community members and families can trust the school with their children. When administrators and leadership on campus demonstrate a commitment to ethical behavior, the reputation of the school is enhanced and it becomes a positive influence in the community. This can lead to increased support from parents since they feel confident in the school’s ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. 3.
What could you do to help assure that others view you as a model for good ethical behavior?
As I mentioned, I think it is important that I promote transparency and hold myself accountable for my actions. I have to ensure that I keep my students’ and my colleagues’ best interests at heart when making important decisions. I must demonstrate integrity and fairness in my interactions with others. This will help others trust in me and trust my character.
