Hello professor and class, The goal of the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process is to find possibilities for improving quality and then put those changes into practice. It is a never-ending cycle of identifying, measuring, analyzing, improving, and control operations. The problem with hospital patient safety is that it can always be improved. Hospitals are always looking for innovative approaches to raise the standard of care they give their patients. They accomplish this, among other things, by putting continual quality improvement projects into practice. A continual procedure called "continuous quality improvement" aids businesses in finding methods to raise the caliber of the services they provide. It entails establishing objectives, tracking results, and adjusting enhance performance (ncbi,2006). The fact that patient safety can be hard to quantify is one of its problems. It is challenging to define objectives and monitor progress as a result. Additionally, staying up to date with the most recent best practices can be challenging because there are constantly new methods to enhance patient safety. However, may, however, find areas for improvement and adjustment to enhance patient safety by putting continuous quality improvement programs into practice. There are numerous instances of how hospital patient safety has been enhanced by ongoing quality improvement programs (ncbi,2023). The use of bar codes on medications is one instance. Because nurses can now scan the barcode to confirm they are administering the right drug to the right patient, medication mistakes have decreased as a result. The adoption of computerized medical records is another illustration. This has decreased medication errors and enhanced communication amongst the many members of the healthcare team.
