1 PROJECT PHASE 2: STATISTICAL COMPARISON OF PERFORMANCE INDEXES Due at the end of week 7 (Sunday at midnight) DESCRIPTION Data sets collected in Phase I will be utilized to explore central and variation tendencies, create index numbers, and write analytics report that will compare the above data for statistically significant differences. INSTRUCTIONS Step 1. Using the Excel spreadsheet, acquire and visualize data for the second S&P500 company, in the same year as chosen in Phase 1. Step 2. What were the major events that have occurred in the market (for example, market rallies, market crashes, changes in government policies, economic situation)? Step 3. How did these major events reflect in the behaviour of these indexes? Step 4. Write a 1000 to 1500 words report comparing the performance of comparing the two S&P500, companies selected in Phase 1 and 2: 4.1 Which of the compared items exhibited higher returns. 4.2 Which of the compared items exhibited higher volatility. 4.3 Using the hypothesis test framework, calculate whether the differences in returns are statistically significant. 4.4 Using the hypothesis test framework, calculate whether the differences in volatilities are statistically significant.

3 Introduction Walt Disney and Netflix are well-known and large companies in the field of entertainment and are in the list of 100 top media (Statista, 2023). Both companies are competing for subscribers and leadership positions. The paper presents the analysis of stock prices of the Walt Disney company and Netflix. Average prices, their return and volatility are compared using descriptive statistics, t-Test, correlation, and financial ratios. Financial performance is shown in Figures 1-6. The cost of shares, their return and volatility are presented in figure 7-12. Comparison of the performance of Walt Disney and Netflix using descriptive statistics and financial performance Volatility of share price is expressed through standard deviation and can be presented in different graphical variants: line charts and histograms. Description
This exercise was contributed by Dr. Rick Wilson of Oklahoma State University to illustrate the modeling capabilities of Excel Solver. You are working with a large set of temporary workers (collection of interns, retirees, etc.) to create a draft plan to staff a nighttime call center (for the near future). You also have a handful of full-time workers who are your “anchors”—but you have already placed them in the schedule and this has led to your staffing requirements. They (full-time workers) are of no concern to you in the model. These staffing requirements are by day: You need 15, 20, 19, 22, 7, 32, and 35 staff for M, T, W, Th, F, Sat, Sun (respectively). You have between 8 and 10 of the pool who cannot work on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday). For these “Weekday Only” folks, there are 3 shifts possible: They will work 4 of the 5 weekdays, one shift will have…

Description This exercise was contributed by Dr. For these “Weekday Only” folks, there are 3 shifts possible: They will work 4 of the 5 weekdays, one shift will have…arrow_forward
