(herein referred to as “The Client”) offices into the current and secured era of computing technology. They currently have no central management or authentication. All files are stored locally on each workstation. Recently, their intern was the victim of laptop theft, who against company policy had copies of confidential information for many of their top customers. The required breach notifications have been sent, but the client wishes to avoid such incidents in the future. Mandatory Requirements: Two virtual machines (15) Implement a proof-of-concept Active Directory environment utilizing virtualization technologies, including: o One Active Directory server for one of the client site. (5 points) o One Desktop machine for each of the client site. (5 points) o Note : The two virtual machines can exist on one single machine, or across multiple computers. You will need to use your knowledge of networking to ensure the machines are able to communicate. o Based on your knowledge, secure these machines using the necessary tools available to you in Microsoft to avoid any data breach. (5 points) Written report, containing: (25) o A diagram, showing the Active Directory server(s) for each site, network segments where the AD servers reside. (5 points) o Be sure to document any assumptions made by your team. (5 points) o Include a section detailing any concerns you have and provide a persuasive argument for what the company should do to remediate these concerns. (5 points) o Outline the problem you’ve been asked to resolve. (5 points) o Describe your solution, the systems involved, tradeoffs your team has made and any concerns you have. Hands-on Skills Assessment Grading Criteria: (30 points) The hands-on skills assessment is an individual component of this assignment used to evaluate and assess your learning for this class. Your grade for this portion is based on the criteria listed below. During your group presentation each student will discuss in detail and be graded on the items listed below: o Ability to demonstrate their knowledge on Windows Server 2012/R12. o Identify what portion of the project they worked. o Discuss their role and assignment related to the group project. o Discuss their contribution to the team. o Explain in detail what they learned from working on the project. o Discuss any challenge(s) encountered in your role. Each student must be able to identify at least one challenge they personally had on the project. o Discuss the challenges encountered as a team. o Explain how they overcame those challenge(s). o Discuss tools and techniques to resolve problems. 2
