Research-Based Intervention and Remediation
The current student, a third-grade girl, faces difficulties with spelling and reading multisyllabic words. While reading, she tends to overlook punctuation marks and lacks expression. Additionally, she scored in the 20th percentile in phonics. Socially, she is reserved and avoids reading aloud in class or with peers. Currently, she receives Tier 2 RTI support and often requires significant guidance to complete assignments. Her Lexile level falls between 420 and 600, slightly below the average range for third graders, which typically spans from 330 to 700. Notably, she does not have an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
To assess her progress, I plan to administer both formative and summative assessments. Formative assessments, such as reflection diaries and in-class activities, track student progress and provide insights for instructional improvement. Summative assessments, conducted post-
learning, offer comprehensive feedback through exams, projects, or performances.
According to the Arizona State Board of Education standards, a third-grade student should demonstrate proficiency in identifying common prefixes and suffixes, as well as reading orally with accuracy, appropriate rate, and expression. Given the student's current challenges, she
requires targeted support to achieve these objectives.
The student's goals will align with standards such as CC.3.R.F.3.C, focusing on phonics and word recognition, and C.C.K-12.L.R.2, emphasizing conventions of standard English in writing. To assist her in meeting these standards, interventions will include using word slides for phonics practice and engaging in partner reading activities to enhance fluency and reading

Q5/ The structural engineering design section within the engineering
department of a regional electrical utility corporation has developed
several standard designs for a group of similar transmission line towers.
