Lesson Plan Analysis & Modification – Living and Non-living Organism 40 pts Directions: Analyze and modify the lesson plan on living and non-living organisms. Complete the following chart to summarize the changes that were made. LP Content Analysis & Critique of Lesson Plan What was done or not done satisfactorily? Your Suggestions or what you did to improve lesson plan Standards-Based (5 points) (What would be the appropriate Florida Standard?) Standards that are choosen to cover all students , even the non English speaking ones . My suggestion would be to use less complicated standards for ELLS Content Objective (5 points) The content was very clear I suggest to create more in-depth objectives Language Objective (5 points) The language barrier was not taken into account Create a mixed language activity where we incorporate the ELLS language as well as English. Increase Comprehension (5 points) (scaffolding, use of L1, graphic organizer) The comprehension was great , it would be understood to a native English speaker but not a ELL. Provide more pictures , and visual interpretations to the child . Increase Interaction (5 points) (cooperative learning) Was not enough group work Allow certain students to work with native english speakers . It can give them a better understanding of the assignment. Increase Thinking Skills (5 points) (appropriate higher order questioning) The critical thinking skills are important and is shown a lot throughout the Lesson Nothing I would change for this part. Technology Utilization (5 points) Lacks a lot of technology support Utilize youtube, audio books and more .
