Module Two Question 1 Describe one of the beliefs and values of the Navajo as illustrated in your readings. While reading above about the Navajo people, I noticed that they have many beliefs. One of these beliefs is when the Navajo people perform rituals, like the ones they use in medicine. They also define spiritual healers as those who work to heal the body and soul. Module Two Question 2 Describe one way in which the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs and values into the societal structure on the reservation since regaining some autonomy in the 1970's. Since regaining autonomy, one way the Navajos have integrated their beliefs and values ?? into the social fabric of the reservation is by creating their own government. The Navajo Nation created its own government and now has a court of elders. In this tribunal, they are able to create their own laws and restrictions. This helps continue to maintain the traditional things. Module Two Question 3 What beliefs and values can be found in your culture? How do these beliefs and values influence your day-to-day life? My culture has a variety of beliefs and values. For example, some can be described as hardworking, freedom, and ethics. When it comes to the beliefs and values ??that impact my daily life, I have noticed that having these characteristics will help me achieve my goals and desires. My values will get me there as long as you are willing to work for it and persevere. Module Two Question 4 Adopt the social science perspective to create a list of questions about this issue. Write at least two questions each from the point of view of a psychologist, a sociologist, and an anthropologist. Psychologist - Does living inside the reservation help or dampen mental health issues? Psychologist - Does governing their own people and closing off from the rest of the world
help or hinder mental health issues? Sociologist - How does an individual social role play apart in their daily life when it comes to stressors? Sociologist - What are some of the social norms those who live in the reservation face? Anthropologist - What cultures of the native Americans has changed in a drastic way? Anthropologist - If native cultures progress this way will it help or hinder their growth and development as a group of people ?
